According to various news outlets Iranian sponsored factions have launched over 100 attacks against US facilities, bases, installations and institutions in the Middle East. 33 Americans were killed in Israel on October 7th, additionally 12 others are being held hostage in Gaza, of those at least two have been murdered. Conflicting messages are coming out of Washington. “We support Israel 100%”, “Israel needs to be cautious of civilian casualties in Gaza”, “Gaza must receive humanitarian aid”, “We strive to achieve a two state solution”. It should be noted that Hamas has a history of pilfering and stealing any aid meant for the citizens.
Moving military assets in close proximity to Israel is a plus but merely having those assets available and not engaging is meaningless bluster. Having them merely in a defensive posture requires hostile action before they can act.
Each and every attack, no matter the origin, must be countered. The last two weeks have seen multiple rockets and missiles aimed at our assets. Most of which were intercepted and nullified. However over two dozen of our servicemen and women have been injured. The Iranian supported pirates are focused on capturing ships in the Red Sea and alternately shooting missiles at them.
A good defense is great. A better defense is a forceful offense that cautions the aggressors to cease, or else. This is what is lacking. We are walking way too softly and not wielding a big enough stick.
Iran, has been universally identified as the chief provocateur supplying financing, logistics and strategy to the bloody terror attack that killed 1,400 in less than one day. It took the Biden administration over a week to affirm Iran’s involvement. No matter what happens in Gaza it is Iran that needs to be confronted. If Hamas is not crushed if will eventually reconstitute and return to fight again. Iran, on the other hand must be dealt with in a similar way. War with Iran is inevitable.
October 7th has brought the understanding that appeasement is a fools errand, especially with those who are sworn to the eradication of Israel and Jews worldwide. The United States needs no further justification than the Americans killed and captured and our wounded military to take on, once and for all the major source of radical Islamic jihad, Iran.
It will be bloody, it will be messy, pro-Hamas factions will scream about alleged war crimes. However it is necessary to mount a military effort akin to WWII. The US and civilized nations must unite, retaliate and claim victory over the entire jihad that will continue to victimize the world if not ended once and for all.
Now is the time for action. Diplomacy can wait.
