NYC PBA Endorses Trump

Alexandra Ocasio Cortez and Jamaal Bowman, the newly minted far left Democratic congressional candidate, are up in arms over the endorsement of President Trump by the PBA. They raise the specter that the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association will behave as enforcers of the Trump agenda and that they will be beholding to his largess.

This historic step taken by the rank and file of a union, usually the lifeblood of the Democrat party, has drawn the line and demands respect and support for its members.

The liberals, leftists and progressives should have seen this coming. Country wide law enforcement is under attack. Their budgets are being slashed under the defund police agenda running rampant. Politicians are appeasing, pandering and kowtowing to the mob demands. Mayors and District Attorneys are abdicating their responsibilities and coddling violent looters and rioters while charging police officers for actions taken while trying to return order to the streets. Indictments, firings and very public resignations up and down the police hierarchy are no longer rare.

The phenomenon is not confined the New York City it is at epidemic proportions particularly in Democrat metropolitan strongholds.

Pat Lynch, President of the NYC PBA, understands that his members are in jeopardy of being relegated to the equivalent of a mall cop or private security guard. He also knows that without a strong police force the quality of life in the city will deteriorate, crime will go up and people will get hurt even more than what has happened so far under DeBlasio. Already those statistics have begun a steep upward climb.

The fervor resulting from the public outcry after George Floyd died under questionable circumstances has been fanned by anarchists hijacking what started out as almost universal shock and dismay.

President Trump has made his total respect and support for law enforcement clearly known. If you recall over the last three years all the images and videos of the President going out of his way to greet and thank the officers assigned to protection details at all different types of events. Many times he would decend from Air Force One stairs and seek out the police detail. Over the last few months of riotous outbursts, the wholesale damage and destruction of statues and monuments he called out the lawlessness and the failure of the local politicians and Governors to maintain order.

Law enforcement organization leaders have been brought to the White House for direct talks with the President several times. His law and order stance is in his bones. Remember he is a native New Yorker and saw firsthand the transformation of the city under Mayor Rudy Giuliani. The quality of life, the decrease in crime and return of the stature of the capital of the world all were universally recognized and acclaimed. Conversely, cities all over the map are broken, decimated by terrorists, politically weak and unable to legitimately manage in an ordinary way.

Terms like malfeasance and misfeasance describe what is happening in the city halls and state houses. The kneeling to the mob is corrupt but alibied as a pursuit to achieve racial equality. The point here is that you cannot come close to that end goal if you allow disorder, rioting and looting and the physical attack against those charged with keeping us safe.

Congratulations to the NYC PBA for stepping up for cops everywhere and endorsing Donald Trump for President. They will not be the last to do so.
