Neville Chamberlain, 2.0

In the fall of 1938 Neville Chamberlain, then Prime Minister of the UK, returned home after three meetings in Munich with Adolf Hitler and gave the “Peace in our time” speech.  Regretfully he had agreed that Czechoslovakia would be ceded to Hitler’s control.  Chamberlain’s naiveté cast his acquiescence as one of the monumental blunders of all time. Hitler was quoted as saying in his book Mein Kampf “The great masses of the people will more easily fall victims to a big lie than to a small one." underscores what Chamberlain did not grasp about the true intentions of Nazi Germany and Hitler specifically.

President Biden has supplanted Chamberlain by his continued acquisition, coddling and placating adversaries.  As if by being kinder we will somehow win them over and gain a great reward.

Obama was the progenitor from the beginning of his first term going on his infamous international apology tour. Bowing to middle east rulers and leaders elevating their position visa vie the US.  Not only was it embarrassing, but ill conceived. Many of the leaders only vaguely hid their opposition. 

Putin invaded and seized Crimea, Al Assad was given a red line to cease gassing his own citizens which was ignored. In fact, Obama stepped aside and allowed Putin to broker the deal.  Iran flagrantly violated the JCPOA nuclear agreement and continued to enrich uranium. They have succeeded in being able to arm a nuclear bomb in a matter of weeks, if not days.

Then came the Trump years.  It was clear to our adversaries that appeasement was not in his vocabulary. North Korea stopped rattling his sword, Putin stopped further aggression into Ukraine, the Abraham Accords brought Arab countries to acknowledge Israel, the Taliban was commanded to not injure any US military personnel, and they complied. 

Here comes Neville 2.0 in the person of Joe Biden.  His case of TDS was so severe that dozens of Executive Orders rescinded many of the successful Trump programs. Construction of the border wall was immediately halted leading to the influx of millions of illegal aliens. Crippling Iranian sanctions were rescinded or ignored allowing billions of dollars to flow to Tehran while attempting to rekindle a foolhardy nuclear deal. Trillions of dollars were spent via legislation driving inflation to levels not seen since the Jimmy Carter years.  Putin telegraphed his intentions to invade Ukraine and Joe stood by and watched it happen.

In Afghanistan Trump had struck a condition-based withdrawal. Biden disregarded establishing any conditions which resulted in an abject debacle killing 13 US soldiers, ceding Bagram Airbase and abandoning eighty plus billions of state-of-the-art equipment and armaments. The worst military blunder in US history.

Israel was brutally attacked on October 7th by Hamas terrorists killing 1,400 Jews. Concert goers, citizens and residents.  The barbarism was total.  Lip service from Biden and company extolled rock solid support for Israel – at first.  Once antisemitic pro-Palestinian protests broke out in cities all over the cracks in Israel support began to materialize.  Biden slow walked weapons and equipment, then put restrictions on how Israel should fight in Gaza, then proclaiming a moral equivalent of Gaza suffering with October 7th.  Slowly Israel was put in a position of negotiating with Hamas, who have always been committed to killing Jews and eradicating Israel.  Then Hamas executes six hostages – including one American, in cold blood and Biden says BiBi Netanyahu is at fault for not doing enough to get a cease fire, which Hamas has twice rejected. 

It is no wonder that the Democrats could no longer line up behind Biden. If it wasn’t for the exposure of his mental decline, they and we could be facing another four years. The alternative of Kamala Harris will not be any better.

Iran will achieve a nuclear weapon, Hezbollah will viciously continue it’s attacks on Israel, China will invade Tiawan, the US economy will devolve into deep recession, the homeless crisis will increase, and crime will continue unabated mostly due to soft DA’s.

Appeasement, and spineless leadership are dangerous, history is awash with disasters that parallel Neville Chamberlain folly.
