Combatting "From the River to the Sea"

The US House of Representatives voted to support Israel and condemn Hamas in a 412-10 vote.

Passing an overdue bill, the first after the election of a new Speaker of the House, speaks of "commitment to Israel's security, including through security assistance" the legislation also calls on all countries to "unequivocally condemn Hamas' brutal war." An emphatic message of support for Israel.

So, why not unanimous?

Stand up anti-Semites. Nine Democrats and one Republican voted against the measure. They are, Democrat Reps. Rashida Tlaib (Mich.), Cori Bush (Mo.), Jamaal Bowman (N.Y.), André Carson (Ind.), Al Green (Texas), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Summer Lee (Pa.), Delia Ramirez (Ill.), Ilham Omar (Minn.) and Republican Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.).

As embarrassing as the ouster of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House was, and the chaos that ensued, the result of this vote is more so and extremely troubling. Here is the question. If those Hamas supporters did an equivalent racist act would they not at the very least be censured?

The blatant levels of anti-Semitism are being exposed in the halls of Congress, academia and in the ranks of college students. Racists of old would have been wearing robes, pointed masks and carrying burning crosses. Today’s antisemite Hamas supporting college students are carrying home made cardboard signs espousing their positions against not only Israel, but Jews universally. They chant “From the river to the sea” which is only a mildly vailed call for the eradication of Israel.

The revelation of the feelings towards Jews in general is tipping the sentiments of the citizens, writ large. Elite universities, such as Harvard, Penn State, Cooper Union in New York City and Boston University to name only a few have been hustling to calculate the line they are going to walk. How strongly will they support Israel and how tough should they be with putting down pro-Hamas student protests. They are twisting themselves in knots considering their decades of woke progressive indoctrination of young minds. They are also facing backlash of the uber billionaire donors who are becoming more and more vocal about their distaste for obviously out of control student bodies. Several have already withdrawn their financials support, cumulatively in the billions of dollars and further instructed their companies and organizations to not hire any graduates of those schools or the students who participated in the anti-Israel pro-Hamas protests.

It is sad that the October 7th Hamas murder of 1,400 Israelis (including 33 Americans) is the spark that finally exposes the magnitude of Antisemitic fervor that lies just below the surface. However, the United States is not unique. Similar mass protests in the thousands are happening worldwide.

During WWII we stood on the sideline too long and could have saved countless Jews from the Holocaust. To not repeat history civilized people must stand up, speak up and yes even protect our Jewish brothers and sisters and we must do so NOW.
