Bring it On.

Writer's picture: Virgil LassiterVirgil Lassiter

For the last two weeks my emotions have run the gamut from revulsion, to anger, to empathy for Israel, to fear for the hostages and finally to a desire to act.

Sadly, my age precludes the action I want to take on Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran. Yet that does not silence me.

The despicable pro-Palestine (Hamas) rallies in major cities around the world and even more repugnant on elite colleges in the United States are beyond understanding. There must be a deranged perspective of facts. October 7th exposed the barbaric bloodlust of the Hamas terrorists. A new tactic was introduced, armed paragliders filling the skies firing automatic weapons on whatever civilians were running away. Citizens were grabbed, stabbed, shot, raped and even there was beheading of adults and babies alike.

The music festival was the scene of mass killing of over 200 concert goers. Included in the mayhem were 33 Americans. The reported hostage count is approximately 200 with at least 12 US citizens.

Fortunately, the 2nd Amendment of our Constitution allows me to go about my day armed. I carry a weapon and have my head on a swivel ever alert to my surroundings. I am not paranoid, just weary. I would welcome the opportunity to take action that would thwart terrorist activity.

The current rise in pro-Hamas support will ultimately lead to radicalized attacks, either by lone wolf operators or cells that have been waiting for just these very distractions to do their evil.

More importantly the rhetoric of the Biden administration, although messaging total support for Israel, the equivocation creeps in with the call to supply humanitarian aid into Gaza ignoring the probability that Hamas will confiscate such aid. Being that ignorant is naïve on its face.

The situation requires a war footing in the strongest terms. Iran and it’s proxies are already increasing their targeting of American installations, assets and interests. Retaliation is demanded and has been lacking.

America must prevail if or when we are drawn into the war. War is not sterile, military and civilians will die, images will be difficult to see.

We must be clear. Hamas invaded Israel with abandon and must be completely defeated and eradicated from the face of the earth. Without annihilation Hamas and the Iranian puppets will regroup and fight another day. Remember Israel is fighting for its very existence. The world without Israel would mean that the world of countries did not step up and protect the Jewish people.

Don’t let the Holocaust be a continuing abomination.

And, if Iran wants this fight I say bring it on.
