As reported by Steve Ertelt in a Life News post of January 17, 2024, the number of babies lost to abortion now approaches 65.5 million since Roe vs Wade. To be exact 65,464,760.
With only a few exceptions the annual death count hovers between 900,000 and 1,500,000. If you do not think that is monstrous just stop for a moment and realize that those babies aborted in the early years following Roe would be 50 years old.
What should that mean to you? Likely, they would be fathers, mothers and even grandparents to new generations. Society has been deprived of the natural progression of family lives, not to mention the possibilities for their individual contributions. In my “What if babies” column I called out some of the major breakthroughs in science, medicine, world diplomacy and the arts affected by those babies if they had been allowed to be born and grow into the world around us.
Overall, we are less because 65 plus million souls were denied life, we are less as a country for sanctioning abortion in all of its horrendous methodology and barbaric procedures. We are less because we tolerate Pro-choice advocates that obfuscate that abortion is health care.
As important as the Dobbs decision was in giving the states the opportunity to deal with the abortion issue in a more local and responsive way it will do little to change minds.
The work of stemming the abortion tide is up to all of us. We need to teach that pregnancy, no matter how, is a gift, and the babies are to be cherished. Until that happens, we will have work to do.
Planned Parenthood and its ilk profit from death. Make no mistake, aborting babies and selling parts of their little bodies is their main reason for existing.
The pressure from Pro-choice legions mounts enormous political pressure on elected officials to help keep them relevant and funded. Those same elected officials are primarily concerned about getting reelected. That is the Achilles heel and our opportunity. Understanding your voice equals a vote is a language they understand. Changing a politician’s stand is convincing them of the value of opposing abortion and what impact that will have in terms of votes. That will take unification of Pro-Life advocates into a force to be reckoned with.
Organize, speak out clearly and often. You have an army of 65 million little souls to support you. They will not let you be defeated.
