Nancy’s Blunder

Writer's picture: Virgil LassiterVirgil Lassiter

Nancy Pelosi for all her reputed political acumen has come up seriously short in

dealing with her renegade freshman Congresswomen.

The Triumvirate of AOC, Omar and Tlaib are out there operating without a license.

Their far left agenda and inflammatory rhetoric are becoming too much for the leader and it is her own fault.

The oaths of office were barely completed when Nancy Pelosi made committee assignments, big mistake number one. ACO and Tliab on the Oversight and Financial Services and Omar on budget and Foreign Affairs.

Second mistake has two parts, assigning the Minnesota Muslim to the Foreign Affairs committee was part one especially in light of her clear anti Israel and pro Muslim philosophy. The second part of the mistake was not removing Omar from her committee assignment after the anti-Semitic comments she made. As a side note the Republicans wasted no time in stripping Rep. King of his when he made certain bigoted comments.

Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez has made her self into the media darling of the far left. Pelosi on the other hand gave her so much rope that she cannot pull it back in.

As the leader it was Nancy’s job to corral the freshmen and teach them what their responsibilities to the Democratic party and agenda were. In retrospect it was the same as not disciplining a wayward teenager.

Rashida Tlaib has not garnered nearly as much media coverage as her two other leftist freshmen but she is not the less becoming a thorn in Speaker Pelosi’s side.

The three appear to have a pact to support each other no matter what. It does not appear the there is a limit to how they will double down for each other no matter how outlandish, outrageous or otherwise false statements they make.

Pelosi has put herself in a corner. She is clearly upset with the upstarts. They on the other hand are chastising Nancy for not being left enough. The battle is spilling out into the public arena with Tweet dart aimed at the leader.

It is a clear case of inept leadership. Nancy Pelosi should have seen this coming and taken action early on. The old adage of silence being acceptance is now biting deeply.

It is almost comical to watch. Not only are the Democrats battling with the administration and the Republicans in general but now they are attacking each other. Without lock step unity the Democrats will never be able to mount a challenge in the 2020 elections.
