New York State Legislature has passed a bill granting the privilege of a drivers license to illegal immigrants.
Pro Immigrant Democrats and their first time office holders - credited with creating the all Democrat majorities in NYS - have managed to do a deal under the guise of making streets safer and helping undocumented aliens transport themselves.
The Governor Andrew Cuomo a Democrat has raised the specter of a veto, not because he disagrees with the concept but because he is afraid he will be creating a database of illegals that might be exploited by the federal government. Cuomo has asked the NYS Attorney General to review the bill to make sure DOJ, ICE, Homeland Security or any other federal agency will never be able to access the data. (NOTE: Cuomo caved to the pro-immigrant activists and signed the bill without any additional review)
So there you have it.
Driver Licenses have always been reserved for residents of the state who are able to support the claim that they are citizens not only of the US of A but that of the state. Apparently those controls are no longer reasonable or worthwhile.
Thoughts to consider. Driver licenses will enable illegal immigrants to apply of many jobs in the public and private transportation businesses and thereby take the place of legal residents and citizens. Illegal immigrants further are on the lower economic strata and will in all likelihood not be able to purchase, insure or otherwise be able to maintain a vehicle. So will that mean uninsured vehicles operated by NYS licensed illegal aliens.
It appears that the Democrats are doing everything in their power to seed the next cadre of voters who will be beholding to them. The is the main reason why comprehensive immigration reform is no where nearer being done than it was 20 or 30 years ago. Without a path to citizenship those very illegals will never attain voter status and thereby fail to inflate the Democratic registration roles.
The Democrats are masters at spinning their reasoning and making it sound so morally correct, sympathetic and just........ Hog wash.
