Can Civil War II be too far off.
It is impossible to envision the chasm between left and right ever being resolved.
Admittedly I am a conservative when it come to most things. I believe in personal responsibility, charting your own course in life, I reject a victim mentality and actually respect the Constitution. The respect of the Constitution is not a matter of convenience when it only serves my purpose or supports a position I have taken, but always and in every circumstance. It is not a morphing, infinitely flexible document but one that has solid strictures to protect the people from the government. It has served us well for 242 years.
Clearly those in power now have no respect for the Constitution or laws in general. It has become agenda above everything. Win at all costs. Civility be damned.
Lies are the currency of the day. Duplicity is the stock in trade today. Power is almighty and something to be guarded and fought for to the end. Soon we will be talking about fighting to the death if something is not done to lower the flames of division.
Blaming the previous administration is not enough. Although candidly those eight years have done more to dig the divide deeper and deeper.
Not just black and white discord, but men and women, heterosexual and gay and ethnicities of all kinds are a chorus of babble, stupidity and false accusations blared at each other across the internet and the press.
One can longer make a comment that is not completely thought out as to not offend or contradict. God forbid you cross the invisible undefined line you will be castigated, viianized, marginalized and disavowed entirely.
The current circus in the Congress is the end result of years of degradation
and diminishment of former rules, guidelines, respect and normal conduct.
Judge Kavanaugh is clearly a qualified jurist his biggest flaw is that he is not bendable to the progressive liberal agenda. He interprets the Constitution as it is written. For years activist judges have legislated from the bench. Brett Kavanaugh is not one of those. He will not bow to political pressure from either side of the aisle.
So when the Democrats try to throw everything but the kitchen sink at him he was untouchable in the three ring circus that pretended to be a confirmation hearing. Having not succeeded in damaging the viability of his nomination they drop a vicious unsubstantiated allegation of 36 years old sexual conduct against him.
An interesting ploy that is unraveling as more and more is revealed about the accuser. She admittedly does not remember key facts about where or when the alleged assault took place. Both she and her attorney are long time devoted Hilary supporters. She could possibly have a personal axe to grind since Judge Kavanaughs' mother (also a judge) ruled against her family in a foreclosure case years ago. She first said she was available to testify and was given a wide welcome by the Judiciary Committee who gave her the choice of public or private session and then changed her mind. She has now demanded the the FBI conduct a full and complete investigation. The problem with that is the FBI has already declined as the request is inappropriate and outside of their mandates.
Republican members of the committee are bending over backwards to acomodate this women and not one of them has the spine to she "Lady you are full of crap and we do not believe this fairytale." Of course that would be so refreshing but it is never going to happen. Politicians are politically wired to protect their votes.
Even the President has been fairly docile because of the subject matter. Which goes to show where we are these days.
The Democrats have learned the best defense is an aggressive offense, or in their case progressive offense. The current stirring from the left is that the Republican Senators are a bunch of old white women hating men.
This debacle is but one of the battles being waged. The verbal arrows are flying.
Pray God that sane people will keep it that way else it could very well be CWII.
