“Point of Order”, “Appeal the Chairs Ruling” , “You are out of order”, “Parliamentary inquiry” all shouted at the opposing side in a game of rhetorical gymnastics.
What a God awful circus in the Congressional hearing with FBI agent Peter Strzok.
A more arrogant, smug and pretentious individual could not have been seated in the witness seat. The phrase that has been in my head is monumental hubris.
For over one year we have heard about Mr. Strzok and Lisa Paige, his lover, and their e-mails that exposed their outrageous – one sided and unethical missives.
Watching the Democrats on the committee try every tactic, legitimate or not, to interfere and protect Strzok was painful. Strzok was at the eye of the storm for the Hilary e-mail investigation, the Steele Dossier and the opening or the nefarious Russia collusion investigation. The left is happy to obscure what was actually at play because it will expose how deeply the left has infiltrated the bowels of the government.
No truly intelligent person believes that this miscreant acted in good faith while doing his job as the top FBI administrator of those cases. First, it was Strzok who changed “grossly negligent” to “extremely careless” in an attempt to deflect the criminal liability the former carried. Second, neither Strzok nor Comey allowed the Clinton interview to be recorded or even transcribed. Immunity was given to key people involved in the e-mail scandal that were in all likelihood potential criminally liable. The letter exoneration Hilary was written before the case was concluded. Third, Strzok was the driving force of the FISA warrant that was based on the unverified dossier that the DNC and Hilary Clinton paid for alleging that Trump and his campaign had colluded with the Russian to influence the outcome of the election. Of course, the Mueller investigation has been unable to find any evidence after more than a year of work and millions of dollars spent.
To watch Strzok’s protestations, denials, failure of memory and out right lies has gotten to be commonplace in these hearings, which is a very sad bastardization of the Congressional mandate to provide truth to the American people.
The Democrats are fixated on anything that is detrimental to the administration. They have lost all ability to seek truth when it goes against their agenda of bringing down the President.
The blind obstruction is regrettable for Congress, the Administration and the American people. It matters not that we have the best economy in a decade or more, taxes have been cut and take home pay for middle America has put extra dollars in their pockets. Government regulations are being reduced to relive the burdens on those trying to conduct business and projects that will provide jobs. Unemployment is at record lows. People who had dropped out of the workforce are back seeking employment because there are more jobs to be had. The President is fighting for fair treatment in our many international trade agreements. Yet the left will not be satisfied unless they get to impeach Donald Trump.
Try to make sense out to the sideshow. Eventually we will need a ringmaster and not a President.
