Washington DC is the capital of Bizzaro World
Remember the comics and Bizzaro World. An alternative reality where everything is opposite. Good was Bad, Light Was Dark, Front was Back.
Wikipedia explains….. “The Bizarro World (also known as htraE, which is "Earth" spelled backwards) is a fictional planet appearing in comic books published by DC comics. Introduced in the early 1960s, htraE is a cube-shaped planet, home to Bizarro and companions, all of whom were initially Bizarro versions of Superman, Lois Lane and their children and, later, other Bizarros including Batzarro, the World's Worst Detective. In popular culture "Bizarro World" has come to mean a situation or setting which is weirdly inverted or opposite to expectations.
In the Bizarro world society is ruled by the Bizarro Code which states "Us do opposite of all Earthly things! Us hate beauty! Us love ugliness! Is big crime to make anything perfect on Bizarro World!" In one episode, for example, a salesman is doing a brisk trade selling Bizarro bonds: "Guaranteed to lose money for you". Later, the mayor appoints Bizarro No. 1 to investigate a crime, "Because you are stupider than the entire Bizarro police force put together". This is intended and taken as a great compliment.”
Watching the shenanigans of our politicians you can draw a line right down the aisle of both houses of Congress, all the committees, all the investigations, all the policies that are espoused and if you step across that line, welcome to Bizzaro World.
It doesn’t matter where you think your real world is Bizzaro World is but a few steps or in today’s ways one sound bite away.
Just the recent developments make the point. At the State of the Union address:
-“African American unemployment is lowest ever recorded” Silence from the Democrats as a whole but more importantly from the Black Caucus who should have been elated…. Silence from them as well. The Bizzaro effect
-Latin American unemployment is lowest ever… Silence.. Bizzaro; success is seen as failure in Bizzaro World
- The stock market is at record highs creating 8 Trillion Dollars new value…Silence …Bizzaro. Prosperity is against the law in Bizzaro World.
- ISIS has been virtually run out of 100% of their occupied territories… Silence…Bizzaro. Victory is frowned upon in Bizzaro World.
- Highlighting the courage, grit, selflessness and heroism of the gallery guests…. Well a little Bizzaro. Slight reaction from the real earthlings in the chamber – but not the Bizzaros.
And so it goes. Any topic, subject, policy, proposal lands in Bizzaro World for the opposition.
Originally a normal planet, htraE is now cube-shaped. This is due to the intervention of Superman, who - after being convicted of doing something perfect on htraE, which would normally be a capital offense - pointed out that the planet was shaped like a normal spheroid and agreed to cube it if his sentence were commuted.
