When asked about the latest attack on the Champs-Élysées in Paris the President was quick to say what the rest of us thought. It appeared to be a terrorist attack.
The left wing media went nuts. They accused him of getting his information from television because he said he had seen the news of the attack just before he arrived at the presser. He was also accused of being ahead of the story with one anchor saying that he was not comfortable to make such a pronouncement.
Well, well not 1 hour later the French authorities knew enough to launch a terrorism investigation. ISIS followed shortly thereafter claiming the credit for the attack that killed a police man and wounded two others.
The main left media has the Obama mentality of deflecting terrorist attacks away from Islam that they cannot yet turn the page. It is an eight year way of doing business for them and has become almost a knee jerk reaction to refuse to call terror attacks as they are.
There is a long list of similar reporting malaise. Fort Hood, San Bernadino, the bombing of Charlie Hebdo offices, the truck attack in Nice and many others. The reporting has been behind the curve in each event. Only when buried in a mountain of evidence did they change the story line. And almost as quickly as they changed the story line they shaved the amount of coverage that was given to the Islamic terror angle.
It confounds regular folks as to why such an effort exists to refuse what has proved to be a world wide problem. When will the jihad be seen as a universal danger that should trump (small t) political sensitivities of the left.
Will it take the outright overtaking of the western world with Islamic theocracies. It will be too late then. History tells us the Crusades were in response of the expansion of Islam across the continent. Jihad take many forms. Violence is the most visible. Subversion of our government, societal norms, education and religious protestations are the quiet jihad but make no mistake the result will be the same. Islam will overrun the western world.
The left keeps wanting to paint Islamic terrorist a bastardization of a peaceful religion. I am not so sure that Islam is either peaceful by its own tenets or a religion by its theology. Islam is like a fictional story loosely based on actual events. Mohammed was real, Jesus was real. The similarity ends there.
Broadcast and cable outlets, major newspapers and bloggers have to report truth. If the ideal is saying truth to power, how about saying truth to the people without running everything through the politically correct filters first. Now wouldn't that be refreshing.
