No Joke - Vote.

Ladies and Gentlemen and children of voting age - vote tomorrow.

No matter what your hoped for outcome your civic responsibility is to cast a vote. Do not listen to polls, do not abandon your choice because you believe that one candidate or other is going to win and therefore your individual vote does not matter. Don't stay home because your candidate is ahead or behind.

Elections have consequences. Whether your party wins or loses.

If, on Wednesday you become the loyal opposition the weight of the votes cast will indicate to the winner that you will be demanding attention in the years to come. You will be challenging notions, decisions and governance that you oppose. If your side of the ledger is weak in terms of the popular vote you will not have a leg to stand on. If you sit out the election you will be playing into the hands of a party or candidate not of your choosing and give them the proverbial "mandate" to execute their agenda with disregard of the electorate.

Should your candidate cross the finish line as the winner you will want them to be armed with the highest plurality as possible thereby giving credence to their ideas and support to positions they espouse.

The political landscape of today is stark. Statesmanship is at a premium. You cannot wish for something better if you do not step up and be heard by way of your vote.

All rancor, vitriol and partisan animosity aside, the American election process is a gift from the founders. Hype and talking heads cannot change the fact that for over two hundred years the United States of America has had transfers of power that were nonviolent, civil and according to law. If that means anything to you, you will get yourself out to your polling place and pull that lever.
