What To Do About Military Age Syrian Refugees.

Writer's picture: Virgil LassiterVirgil Lassiter

The answer has been so obvious all along. It is one of those Eureka or AHA moments.

Mine came this morning as I heard yet another political talking head say “no boots on the ground.” I finally agree, with one caveat- “None of OUR boots on the ground”.

Think about this. If these were our young men running and hiding from a fight that is all about them and their lives they would be labeled cowards. How is it that those very refugees flooding into other countries are not seen that way.

What better fighting force than men who know much more about their homeland than any of us. They know the terrain, the towns, the enemy. The obvious thing to do is to train, arm, equip them and send them back to their own country to win it back.

Please argue with me and tell why this is not the best idea out their. Why should these young men be protected, pampered and sheltered elsewhere while it is their country that is going up in flames. Why should they not be enlisted in the fight to save their fellow countrymen, their families, homes and way of life. Their country harbors ISIS and every type of extreme jihadists destroying everything and person in its’ path. Might the young male refugees die if they are returned as soldiers to their land? Yes, but how many of our young men died when we went to war to protect our country and other countries around the globe. Are their lives worth more than our boys and girls who have always answered the call to duty and fought for our freedom and liberty.

Every one of the countries that are being asked, no pressured, to give them shelter has the wherewithal to make them into a fighting force and return them to their homeland. In fact it could not be simpler. Talk about a real vetting process….. “Are you willing to fight for your country?... answer yes and they immediately become soldiers. ….answer no and they are denied entry to any other country. Easy peezee. End of problem.
